'Boys Bashed in Bedlam

Stillwater, OK--In what is normally a tough environment for Oklahoma to play at, Stillwater was a friend to the Sooners this year as they roughed up the Cowboys, 45-28. The win moved their record to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in Big XII play.This 105th Bedlam meeting was a Sooner affair from the start, although the scoring would indicate otherwise. Oklahoma State started off with a 39 yard field goal by D. Bailey. The Sooners rallied with a long drive, capped by a 8 yard TD reception by TE Ethan Reese from Sam Bradford. From there, OSU hit another FG in the 2nd quarter and then a returned INT for a TD to make the score 13-7 in favor of the Pokes. OU followed up with scores at 2:11 and 0:03 by Calhoun (2yd rushing) and Broyles (16 receiving) to go into the half up 21-13.
The second half was all Oklahoma. Three scores involving Sam Bradford put the Sooners up for good. First wa a 27 yard Bradford pass to DeJuan Miller. Next was a Bradford 2 yard run and finally, a 42 yard scoring strike to Ryan Broyles. At the end of three, OU 42-13.
The fourth quarter saw OSU score two TD's while OU knocked in one final score, a 21 yard field goal from Tress Way. Final score, 45-28 in favor of the visiting Sooners. The Players of the Game were: Sam Bradford, Oklahoma (33-42 Passing for 463 yards, 4 TD, 2 INT, 1 Rushing TD) and Ugo Chinasa, Oklahoma St. (11 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 4 sacks).
OU next travels to Dallas, TX to face the Longhorns in the annual Red River Rivalry while Oklahoma State travels to Manhattan, KS to face Kansas St.

Game Notes:

OU had (-3) rushing yards on the day. Their top rusher was Jermie Calhoun with 31 yards on 8 carries. OU had two 100 yard receiving days (Broyles & Owens). Both teams combined for only 1 penalty for 5 yards. OSU had 12 return yards to OU's 148. OU had 3 TO's to OSU's zero and still won by 17. Each team gave up 6 sacks. Bradford passed for 463 yards. Weeden passed for 348.
