Norman, OK--In a surprise announcement, Oklahoma received it's first hard verbal commitment for the freshman class of 2012 when Mount Vernon, WA defensive end Cole
Burnette pledged to play for the
Sooners. The 6'6", 245 pound
Burnette may have a chance to play in '12 with the departure of Frank Alexander and the lack of depth the
Sooners expect to have there next season. Most recruiting experts expect the
Sooners to grab another top flight DE this recruiting season to add to their depth.
Burnette is known as a strong tackler with NFL-ready pursuit skills already. He's also known to be a great block-shedding end who'll knock your socks off if you get in his way.
